Cook Set to Decide Between Duke and UCLA

By November 2, 2010No Comments

Duke target Quinn Cook is set to announce his college destination this week. The plus for Duke, the close relationship with current Duke guard Nolan Smith, also the vocal call from Austin Rivers to join him at Duke and create one of the best freshman classes in the nation.

The minuses are that UCLA is ready to hand Cook the keys to the kitchen to be the starter from day one, that’s a hard one to pass uo and we wouldn’t blame him for jumping on that. While we doubt the level of talent at UCLA will rival that of Duke in the coming years, Cook could truly make an impact and make each player on that team better.

It’s also hard to say whether the Myck Kabongo de-committing from Texas has any kind of role in Cooks decision, while Kabongo is keeping things close to the best its hard to really say if he is truly interested in Duke or if this is a play to keep his name in the headlines. (recruiting has become so much more of a marketing game).

Either way this will be an interesting next few days, I don’t think there is a chance we land both, but we have to wonder will we land either. Stay tuned…
