Tonight the number one ranked Duke Blue Devils beat the GCU Antelopes 96-61 . Many of the Duke players stood out in tonight’s blowout win, but only one can earn my Devil Of The Day honors. With that being said here is tonight’s Devil Of The Day, Grayson Allen.

Devil Of The Day –

Tonight’s Devil Of The Day is Grayson Allen. After an iffy shooting start to begin the game , Allen was nothing but great for the rest of the game. Allen finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. He played 35 minutes of the game. He hustled on every play and looked like vintage Grayson out there in Cameron.

Grayson was named ACC Preseason Player Of The Year. He is the so-called best player in the country. He does everything out there on the court, whether it’s his amazing shooting, quick handles, great defense, or his overall basketball knowledge, we all know that Grayson could lead Duke all year long.

Allen must continue to keep his amazing play up , as Duke faces some good opponents in the upcoming games. They face number 3 Kansas on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. Allen will have to do a lot on the court if Duke wants to continue there winning ways.

Honorable Mention(S)-

A big part of the win against Grand Canyon was Duke’s great defense, and that defense was led by none other then Amile Jefferson. Duke is very happy to have there captain back. He stood out on offense scoring 15 points , but his defense was unreal as he had 5 blocked shots and 3 steals.

Jefferson’s block totals are unheard of, he always seems to be in front of the shots that are being put up. He knows where the ball is gonna be passed on each play, and that is so good for a defender to have in there playing style because it leads to so many turnovers for the opposing teams.

If Jefferson can play this kind of defense every night, we should expect low scoring games for Duke’s opponents.

Another great game off the bench from Freshman Guard Frank Jackson. He is a player who loves the game, he is so athletic and passionate. He scored a season-high 21 points and shot 70% from the field. Don’t be shocked if he racks up more minutes this season.

Duke’s next game is Tuesday Night against the 3rd Ranked Kansas Jayhawks. They will square off in a matinee matchup at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.
