Duke Announces 2015-16 Non-Conference Schedule; ACC Opponents

Duke 2015-16 Non-Conference Schedule; ACC OpponentsDURHAM, N.C. – Coming off a historic 2015 NCAA Championship run Duke University and head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced Friday the non-conference schedule and ACC opponents for the 2015-16 men’s basketball season.

Duke opens the season Nov. 13-14 with a pair of home games in the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. The Blue Devils’ first and second round opponents will be announced by ESPN during the first week of August. Duke will be joined in the championship rounds of the 2K Classic (Nov. 20 and Nov. 22) at Madison Square Garden by Georgetown, VCU and Wisconsin.

With six letter-winners returning and the top-ranked recruiting class in the country, Duke will play neutral site contests against 2015 NCAA Final Four participant Kentucky in the State Farm Champions Classic Nov. 17 at the United Center in Chicago and 2015 NCAA Sweet Sixteen opponent Utah at Madison Square Garden Dec. 19.

Duke’s home non-conference slate is highlighted by a Dec. 2 meeting with Indiana in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Blue Devils also welcome Yale (Nov. 25), Utah State (Nov. 29), Buffalo (Dec. 5), Georgia Southern (Dec. 15), Elon (Dec. 28) and Long Beach State (Dec. 30).

The conference portion of the 2015-16 Duke men’s basketball schedule features home and away meetings with Louisville, North Carolina, N.C. State and Wake Forest. The Blue Devils also welcome Florida State, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech to Cameron Indoor Stadium, while hitting the road for match-ups with Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami and Pittsburgh.

The Blue Devils are scheduled to play 14 regular season games against teams that reached the 2015 NCAA Tournament. Duke’s full schedule complete with game dates, times and television designations will be announced in August in conjunction with the ACC.
