Grayson Allen & Chase Jeter Named to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Duke junior Grayson Allen and sophomore Chase Jeter were recognized for their efforts in the classroom on Wednesday with inclusion on the 2017 All-ACC Academic Men’s Basketball Team announced by the league office.

Allen was tabbed for the All-ACC Academic Team for the third time in as many collegiate seasons, making him the ninth Duke player to earn the honor three times. Jeter was named to the squad for the second consecutive season.

Allen and Jeter’s selections give Duke representation on the All-ACC Academic Team for the 23rd year in a row, including multiple team members for the 10th consecutive season. The Duke program has garnered 69 All-ACC Academic Team selections during head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s tenure.

A psychology major from Jacksonville, Fla., Allen leads Duke with an average of 3.7 assists per game while ranking third on the roster with an average of 14.5 points per night. He ranks ninth in the ACC in free throw percentage (.813) and 21st in scoring this season.

Allen has scored more than 1,300 career points, earned All-America and Academic All-America honors and helped Duke hang its fifth NCAA championship banner in addition to his work in the classroom.

A cultural anthropology major from Las Vegas, Jeter has battled injuries this season but has seen action in 16 games with averages of 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. He has played in 48 games in a Duke uniform over the last two seasons.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative GPA during his academic career.
